Russia-based car manufacturer AvtoVAZ has announced to recall 45,348 units of Lada Granta model over the defect in the airbags.
The recall will affect the the carmaker's models manufactured during May and September 2012 that feature airbag control blocks manufactured by Takata Petri, the German unit of Japanese firm Takata.
As part of the recall, the firm would test and reprogramme the airbag control blocks that were reported to be not working properly.
In April 2012, the company had recalled about 100,000 units of Kalina and Granta models over the fuel system issue and the lastest move is the second recall.
The company had launched the Lada Granta, in December 2011, which was based on the Kalina platform and the company had targeted to produce about 100,000 units of the Lada Granta model by 2012.
